“InSource in the Wild” Series – #2

Refrigeration Keeps Coffee Creamer Cold
You know the feeling: you have been driving for a while, and drowsiness starts setting in, but you have some distance to go. In order not to be a danger to others, you pull into a truck stop or convenience store, for a little liquid pick-me-up. Some people reach for a Mountain Dew or an energy drink, but for you, like many Americans, coffee is your caffeinated beverage of choice.
You pour yourself a cup, and you notice right beside it is a refrigerated cream dispenser keeping your coffee creamer cold. Maybe you don’t usually put creamer in, but just this once, you’ll go for the one-two-punch of French vanilla and coffee together. You put in the creamer, stir it, and take a first sip. A little too sweet? Maybe, but also delicious.
InSource builds Refrigeration System for Creamer Machine
You are probably not aware, but Insource just played a small role in that scenario of keeping you awake on the interstate. If you used the right machine, InSource built the refrigeration system inside that’s keeping your coffee creamer cold and safe to drink.
One of our valued customers is a manufacturer of coffee creamer cold dispensers. They design and make a quality product that is ready to withstand years of service in the field. InSource manufacturers only part of their product (the custom refrigeration system), which we ship to them for final assembly. By partnering with InSource, they get to focus on their core strengths, which include assembling the cream dispenser, and managing a nation-wide distribution network to sell and lease these machines in convenience stores. That, and they sell lots of cream.
Custom Refrigeration Manufacturer
So why use InSource? Our refrigeration customers depend on our industry expertise to drive better outcomes for them. It all starts with our knowledgeable engineering team, which can help with system design, component selection, testing, and system optimization. We can work with our customers to determine which refrigerant is the best option for their system, balancing cost and performance, and making sure we are keeping in mind any upcoming regulatory challenges.
Once we help them finalize the design, we leverage our supply chain partners to source components. We purchase compressors, coils, valves, and other components from long-time partners that we trust to help us manufacture quality systems. In house, we cut, bend, shape, and braze copper tubing using state-of-the-art machinery, including robotics. Our team then puts the system together, according to our customers’ specifications. The final product is charged with refrigerant, and then undergoes several tests, including performance and leak checks to ensure quality.
Experienced Team
Our team has been building refrigeration products for over 28 years. Our manufacturing processes ensure that the refrigeration systems are made quickly, built to spec, and made for years of use. We are a contract manufacturer, which means at the end of the day, our customers own all the designs, all the IP, and just choose to use our expertise to help them assemble part of their product.
Contact InSource
If your company has a need for someone to manufacture refrigeration systems, please consider tapping into InSource’s expertise. Maybe there’s an upcoming refrigerant change that you don’t know how to navigate or design for. Give us a call – we would love to help. If you do not have any need for us to supply you with refrigeration systems, at least think of us, and give us (and our customer) a mental hat-tip the next time you put creamer in your coffee while you are on the road.
