Changing to Flammable Refrigerants - How Can InSource Help? 1

Refrigeration equipment is in InSource’s DNA, so to speak. Our founder spent his early career at another company designing and building equipment for refrigerant recycling/recovery.   In 1997, he decided to start InSource as a contract manufacturing company (meaning we assemble products for other companies, not our own.) At the start, we had one product to build: a refrigerant identifier. This was used by auto repair shops to aid in recovery, recycling, and reuse of refrigerants.  Our manufacturing portfolio expanded to include making hoses, manifold gauges, and other tools that HVAC & Refrigeration technicians use to service and install equipment.

In the early 2000s, we started working with customers to assemble complete refrigeration systems for them. InSource builds systems that are used in restaurants and convenience stores, as well as medical and scientific environments. Our engineers can help customers design an efficient system that meets customer needs at an optimized cost point. We leverage our spend and resources to source all the components, assemble the unit, and deliver it to our customers for final assembly into their product.

Our team has already done the legwork for several customers to change them over to R290. In these cases, we have been able to deliver smaller, high-efficiency systems that met the customer’s needs.

InSource has already invested in a charging system for flammable refrigerants to use in our facility, including all the required safety infrastructure that comes with it. Our system is capable of charging  Gen 3 and Gen 4 refrigerants. It is accurate to +/- 1g of charge, and can charge at 10g per second on HC (flammable) refrigerants.  By selecting InSource as your next refrigeration supplier, we can save you that complication, and the cost of investing in your own charging system.

From design, to component selection and sourcing, to manufacturing, InSource stands ready to help you get through the change to flammable refrigerants. Our customers consider us essential, and their most responsive supplier. Don’t be intimidated by the coming regulation change. Reach out to the experts, and let us help. Call InSource.
