  • Connector body
  • Overmold cavity
  • Cable shutoff

This modular approach allows engineering and manufacturing teams to quickly configure tooling for different connector styles without creating an entirely new mold from scratch. The result is faster development cycles and lower tooling investment for OEM customers.

The versatility of the system allows connectors to be molded in multiple orientations, including both 180-degree straight exits and 90-degree right-angle configurations. Engineers gain flexibility in packaging and cable routing, while production teams benefit from a repeatable manufacturing process.

Fully Sealed vs. Partially Sealed Designs

Not every application requires the same level of environmental protection.

Some connector designs are partially sealed, providing excellent strain relief and protection against typical operating conditions. These solutions can often be produced with a single molding operation and offer an economical way to improve connector performance.

Other applications demand a fully sealed connector assembly. Equipment operating outdoors, mobile machinery, agricultural equipment, construction vehicles, and other rugged environments often require a more robust solution.

For fully sealed designs, a pre-mold operation is typically required before the final overmold is applied.
